Because of my training as an artist-blacksmith, I prefer forging and hot working methods over machining and mechanical fabrication.
I prefer to shape metal by heating, bending and hammering rather than cutting and grinding. This hand worked element is what satisfies me in a completed piece.
I believe in the saying, “You get the kind of work you do,” so I try to be as versatile as possible, doing my best and taking on interesting and unique projects whatever they are.
Metal is an unforgiving material to work with but a small amount can support great weight, physically and visually. I like to make a piece that fits perfectly into it's surroundings, either as a part of the whole or as a natural focal point. |
